Nicole Singer

Bio

Nicole Singer is a teacher, artist, musician, and organizer living in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. She sings sea songs and chanteys, work songs, ballads, blues, and lots of other things, occasionally accompanying herself on guitar or rhythm bones. Nicole recently recorded her first album, Long Hot Summer Days. Previously, she co-authored the Folk Sing Starter Kit with Julia Friend for the Country Dance and Song Society, and is an organizer for the New England Folk Festival Association’s annual festival (NEFFA) and for Youth Traditional Song Weekend. She has performed at folk festivals, aboard tall ships, and at music camps, colleges, house concerts, and participatory singing events from Baltimore to Boston and many places in between.

Nicole teaches visual art at Fort River Elementary School in Amherst, MA to grades K-6. She teaches all visual art media, with a particular specialty in ceramics and 3D sculpture. She has also taught middle and high school students, and was for many years the head of the ceramics studio at Buck’s Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp in New Milford, CT. She also taught archery there.
